NEW EXHIBIT: Elizabethtown and the Road to Liberty 

 In a small Pennsylvania frontier town, hard choices had to be faced as the revolution touched the everyday lives of the residents of Elizabethtown.


Exhibit opens April 1 and runs through April 30 during museum hours. 


Join us for a special Opening Night Members Reception on Tuesday, March 31. View the exhibit, including the America250PA art and essay contest submissions beginning at 5 p.m. At 6:45, join us for a reception to recognize the contest entrants. The evening will conclude at 7:30 p.m.

Programs for Adults

Colonial Costume Workshop

April 21, May 5, 19, June 2 & 16

6 - 8 p.m.  

   

Celebrate America250PA by stepping into the world of Revolutionary-era sewing. This hands-on workshop explores hand-sewn women’s clothing from 1776–1780 using historically accurate materials and techniques. 


Over five evening sessions, participants will create an authentic garment while learning the skills and stories behind 18th-century dress. All materials are provided by the museum, with the option to purchase your finished costume. 


Registration & Instructor Fee: $50

Remember When Story Series

Elizabethtown has always been a community built on resilience, fortitude, strength, and service. Join us at the historic H.U. Coble House for an inspiring evening series featuring special guest presenters from across our community.


Each speaker will share their personal story, reflecting on their accomplishments, challenges, family ties, and memories of life in Elizabethtown. These heartfelt accounts will be filmed and preserved in the Seibert Genealogy and Research Library, ensuring that their voices become part of our shared history.


Come listen, connect, and celebrate the stories that make Elizabethtown strong. Refreshments will be provided.

Pre-school Story Hour at Winters Heritage House Museum

Designed for ages 3 - 6


On the 2nd Friday of each month come to Winters Heritage House Museum where little ones can journey back in time with engaging stories that will spark their curiosity about the past! With colorful pictures, songs, and easy crafts children will explore how people lived, worked, and played in early America. A tasty snack inspired by the month’s theme is included. Our story hour encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning while introducing young visitors to the wonders of the museum.

History Detectives

Designed for ages 6-11


When school is out, come sleuth your way through history. 


Filled with interactive activities, this elementary -program allows students to explore history through storytelling, images, role-playing, crafts, games, and hands-on projects. As you build colonial tools or recreate historical landmarks, you will gain a deeper understanding of the people and events that help to shape our world.

Afternoon Kids Club for ages 4 - 10


Be a part of the Winters Heritage House Museum’s Afternoon Kids Club where each afternoon program is an adventure in art, history and creativity. Using the Winters Heritage House Museum's exhibits and artifacts, each session brings a new theme that offers discovery through hands on activities, painting, stories, images, games and crafts. Snacks are included.
